Dental pain rarely waits for business hours, and by the time it's bad enough to call about, the situation is usually already urgent. Facial swelling, throbbing pain that keeps you up, or a tooth knocked completely out of the socket all count as true emergencies that need same-day attention.
Coordinators check real-time openings across the network so an emergency call gets matched to an office that can actually see you today. If it's after normal hours, we can often reach an on-call provider directly instead of leaving you with a voicemail.
Skipping urgent care rarely makes the problem disappear — an untreated infection can spread from the tooth into the jaw or bloodstream within days. That's the whole point of a dedicated emergency line: getting ahead of a problem before it escalates overnight.
Emergency cases are pulled from a separate part of the schedule so they don't wait behind routine cleanings.
Coordinators ask targeted questions — swelling, fever, bleeding — to gauge severity before you even arrive.
Partner offices take same-visit X-rays to locate fractures, abscesses, or nerve exposure immediately.
Local anesthesia and, where needed, prescription pain control are addressed before any other treatment planning.
Our network specialists cover the full range of this procedure, from the routine case to the complicated one.
Identifies whether the pain is decay, an abscess, or a cracked tooth, and treats accordingly on the spot.
Time-sensitive re-implantation is attempted when the tooth and socket are in good enough condition.
Addresses the acute infection first, then plans definitive treatment once the swelling is under control.
Temporary or permanent repair is chosen based on how much of the tooth structure remains.
Protects the vulnerable tooth immediately, then plans a permanent restoration if the original piece can't be reused.
Non-restorable teeth are removed promptly rather than left to worsen while other options are debated.
You describe what's going on; no automated menu, no long hold.
We match you with a nearby specialist experienced in this exact procedure and check real-time openings.
You get a clear explanation of the treatment plan and its cost before any work begins.
You leave with the issue addressed and a plan for any next steps already scheduled.
"They walked me through the cost and the procedure before I agreed to anything. Appreciated that."
"Got in faster than I expected for something this specific. Staff were sharp and direct."
"Price they quoted on the phone matched the invoice exactly. No surprise charges."
If you're in significant pain or see swelling, fever, or a tooth that's been knocked loose, call immediately.
Same-day availability depends on the specific symptoms, but urgent pain and swelling are prioritized immediately.
Handle it by the crown, not the root, and keep it moist in milk or saline until you're seen — time matters.
You don't need to already be a patient there; emergency care is available to first-time callers as well.
Whether antibiotics are needed depends on the exam findings; draining the infection is usually the priority treatment.
We give you a cost estimate before booking so there's no surprise once you're already in pain.
Our coverage spans Westport and its surrounding area, matching you with the closest available specialist.
Every provider carries an active NC dental license, verified before referral.
